Why do you advertise cars for free?At fastcarfinder.co.uk we believe that the web should be free for services such as advertising your car. There are lots of companies on the web that charge for this service but FastCarFinder will never charge its customers for placing single car adverts on its site. Not now or ever. How can you give away free car advertising?In short we can't. With administration costs, paying for the web server and bandwidth combined it gets pretty expensive. Thats why we display useful related links to other websites. I know its a pain when you go to a site that shows random links to every where on the net, so at FastCarFinder every external link to an affiliate is checked to make sure that the site's content is of value, is relevant to FastCarFinder's content and useful to the user that has clicked on the link. For instance we will never link to a finance company which we consider has an outrageous APR (annual percentage rate), or websites that consistently do not deliver on their promises. If you have any problems when dealing with a website that is linked to from FastCarFinder.co.uk I urge you to send us an email and the website in question will be investigated or DROPPED from the FastCarFinder web site. Why do you charge for extra image uploads?Everyone has the option to upload extra images of their car when building an online advert, However extra uploads require extra bandwidth and this is charged to FastCarFinder. Extra images are charged at 49 pence each to a maximum of six images, so if you did decide to upload 6 extra images with your Free car advert it would still only cost £2.94. How are extra image charges dealt with?FastCarFinder passes the billing amount to PayPal where the transaction is dealt with on their Secure Servers. We do not ever handle users credit card or bank details nor will we ask for them. If you are ever sent an email saying otherwise please contact us immediately and delete the email. Do Not Click on any of the links in the email. If you receive an email from PayPal they will greet you with your name. If you receive an email supposedly from PayPal but is a scam the email normally starts with a dear PayPal user or words to that effect and should be deleted. You should also contact PayPal and let them know that someone has tried to scam you. Can I place an advert by email?I am sorry but it is not possible to place any adverts that arrive by email. Why Can't I choose my own password when I register?When you register with FastCarFinder you are automatically sent an email with a randomly generated password this is to ensure that you have given the correct email address. Once we have verified that the email has been sent to the correct person you will be able to log in with your email that you registered with and the password that we have sent you. When you have made your advert live you will be able to change your password for something more memorable. You can do this by logging into the members area and clicking the change password link. Spam?I hate spam in fact I wish they would make it illegal to send spam through the post. FastCarFinder will never send out emails to customers that have opted out of receiving emails. In fact when you register with us the default setting is 'off' so that you have to choose yourself whether you wish to receive emails from us. If you do decide to opt in to receiving emails from us we will never send more than one email a month. How many car adverts can I have at any one time?You may place only one car advert at any one time. However if you delete your old advert within the members area you can simply log in and create another car ad for free. How many accounts can I have?As many as you like. You can only create one advert at a time per account. If you have uploaded an advert already you will not be able to create another one until you have deleted the old one. You can set up another account by registering with another email address. This will enable you to create a second advert. Do you allow trade advertising?Yes we do allow the trade to advertise on FastCarFinder. This at the moment is on a one ad per car basis and is free. Also traders can post their website address when building an advert. This will display a link to their website and will be seen whenever someone clicks on their car advert. However in the future we plan to allow traders to advertise multiple cars for a fee. How do I create my online car advert?In order for you to place a Free advert for your car on the FastCarFinder web site you need to login first. You will find the login details in the email we sent you when you registered. When you have logged in you will then be able to create your Free car advert. By using the quick forms it is possible to upload your advert in less that a minute. My car advert has errors how can I change it?When building your advert just before you make it live you will be given the chance to check your online car ad. You will be able to change any mistakes at this point. When you have already made your advert live you can still change the price or the main image. You can also add extra images for 49 pence each. If you find an error that can't be changed within the members area you will have to delete your ad and start again. You can do this by logging into the members area using the your email that you used to create your account with and your password. When logged in.
How do I remove my car advert?This is possible by logging into the members area and clicking the relevant link. You will then be asked to enter your password and the email address that you supplied when you registered with FastCarFinder.co.uk. It is not compulsory but it would be helpful if you could add some feedback when deleting your advert. This is so I can improve user experience and would be greatly appreciated. The members area looks different from the main site?The members area is due for an upgrade and this will be happening soon. Along with the upgrade there will be a whole host of extra features. These extra features are a result of user feedback and I hope to get this done as soon as possible. |
